Indian Playback Singer K S Chitra’s 8 year old daughter died in Dubai today on 15 April 2011. The daughter Nandana was playing near the swimming pool in which she drowned. The incident took place at a distance of 30 kms away from the city at a villa in the Emirates Hill.

Chitra came here for a musical concert and was staying with her family in her friend Dileep Rahulan’s villa. Rahulan is a famous Indian businessman in Dubai.

Chithra was in the town with her husband and beloved daughter Nandana. She had to participate in the musical event going to be at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday. Many other Bollywood stars like AR Rehana, A.R. Rahman’s sister; Sayanora, Naresh Iyer and Abdul Salam were also going to be a part of the event.

Nanadana fell into the swimming pool accidentally and drowned. She was taken to the Jebel Ali Cedar hospital but doctors declared her dead. They said that it’s too late now.

All the celebs that came to participate in the musical event were living in a Hotel Apartment, Karama, but Chithra wished to stay in Dileep’s villa as she thought she could look after her daughter more properly there.

Nandana was type of a sick child. So Chithra always kept her always with herself to take care of her child’s every need.
Police of Dubai has launched an Inspectation Team for the same.

On questioning about the show, the organizers said it’s impossible for them to cancel the show as it would be huge loss to all. They will be doing prayer for the girl and then show would be as scheduled. But don’t know, if Chithra would be performing or not.
