The auction for IPL season IV has been almost finished. The Players for the Team for IPL are also been almost selected. This season has brought a good luck not only for the Indian opener Gautam Gambhir but also for Yusuf Pathan which is purchased by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2.1 million US Dollars. Robin Uthappa is also sold at 2.1 USD to Pune Team and Rohit Sharma is also in the same list of highest paid cricketers with auctioning amount as 2 million USD. Mumbai Indians has bought him.
However, Gambhir is the luckiest person in this matter. He was purchased by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team with the auctioning amount of 2.4 millions United States dollars which is highest for a player in this IPL session. It looks like that this cricketer was already in the minds of KKR management committee. As when the auction started, the management made a highest auction and that too without any delay to purchase this cricketer. The bid amount was around $2.4 or near about 11.4 crore Indian rupees. In short, it was really an IPL jackpot for Gautam.
On the other side, the most successful former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly probably has to suffer a lot in this session. He didn’t found anyone who can bid for him. In IPL 4, he is not the playing part of KKR team but on the other side, Shah Rukh Khan said that the Kolkata Team can’t be complete without this international player and so he will be a member of the team. But with the statement it is clear that the chances are that he can be a team-member but will not be a part of the playing team.
Don’t know what will happen. But fans of Ganguly including me want to see this great player playing IPL session IV.
