India defeated Pakistan by 3 wickets in the fourth match of Asia Cup played at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Rangiri, Sri Lanka.
Pakistan won the toss and selected to bat. Pakistan openers Salman Butt (74 runs off 85 balls with 9 fours) and Imran Farhat (25 runs off 43 balls with 3 fours) gave a slow but solid start to Pakistan to put a target of 268 runs to Indians. Pakistan wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal also scored a half century 51 runs in just 41 balls with 3 huge sixes and 2 fours.
Other batsmen like Shoaib Malik with 39 Runs, Umar Akmal with 21 Runs and Shahid Afridi with 32 runs also contributed their best with the bat to reach the Pakistan total of 267/10. Pakistan team got all out after scoring 267 runs. The opener Salman Butt was the top scorer from the Pakistani Innings side.
From the Indians inning side, the opening was not so good and Virender Sehwag caught Kamran b Abdul Razzaq at his individual score of 10 which was scored in 32 balls including 1 four. Gautam Gambhir scored his half century by making 83 runs from 91 balls which include 6 fours and 1 huge six. Bhajji and Suresh Raina played a beautiful inning in the victory of India.
Indian captain was the second batsman to score half century from Indians side. He scored 56 runs from 71 balls with 2 fours and 1 six.
India won this match in the second last ball of last over when Harbhajan Singh made a six in Mohammad Aamer over.
Now Sri Lanka and India are the two teams to enter in the final of Asia Cup.
